Nature In It’s Glory

The wonder of nature and the vital role of pollination performed by birds, bees, bats and butterflies is exquisitely filmed here by Louis Schwartzberg and presented at the TED conference in Long Beach, CA in 2011.

There are lots of Hummingbirds, bees and a few butterflies in my yard, yet, even with my superior cat vision I cannot see the dance that is their everyday job.

You can marvel at the absolute perfection of nature watching this video. Take to heart what Louis Schwartzberg has to say about what will happen if any of these vital creatures are to become extinct. Bees have been on the decline in recent years. Scientists are not sure why – certainly human chemicals have played a role in their disappearing numbers.

If you have an interest in science perhaps you will help find a way to save these creatures from extinction. Even young as you may be you can borrow books from the library, find videos and study results online, and even more importantly, tell your family and friends what can be done now to support these magnificent, miraculous creatures that are an integral part of the earth designed by the Creator to support every living creature.

Blessings to all,
~Jack

Happy Groundhog Day!

My goodness! It’s been so long since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been keeping busy, though. Just you wait and see!

In the meantime, enjoy this short video and song about Groundhog Day.

It sure doesn’t feel like winter here any more but Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow this morning so he predicts 6 more weeks of it. Always seemed silly to me. If he sees his shadow, doesn’t that mean the sun is out? And if the sun is out doesn’t that mean its warmer? Since Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction accuracy is only 39% I think they ought to say it’s 6 more weeks if he DOESN’T see his shadow.  Don’t you?

Blessings,
Jack

PS See if you can win a staring contest with a groundhog. Hint: be very quiet and don’t make any sudden moves :)
